Martijn Hassink

Martijn Hassink is founder of De Wereldverbeteraars. After years of working as an (independent) consultant, he decided to share his knowledge in this way and dedicate himself to projects that contribute to a better world/society.

Through the use of good teams, he has the experience that extraordinary performance is possible in a relaxed manner.

Profile

With his almost three decades of experience, Martijn has become an experienced expert in (management) consultancy, interim management, programme management and project management. As a consultant, he therefore spent many years in these directions where he was specifically engaged in innovating and automating business processes, often with the help and use of IT. By implementing and transforming these innovations, he has also gained a wealth of experience when it comes to change management.

Through his extensive experience in improving various organisations, Martijn has developed a keen insight into potential areas for improvement within different sectors. In this, he wants to focus specifically on sectors that contribute to a better society, such as (but certainly not limited to) healthcare and energy supply. Helping these socially important sectors is exactly what motivates Martijn and what his initiative ‘De Wereldverbeteraars' stands for. His mission then is to find innovative and sustainable improvements in these sectors.

"Actually, everything has to go to a sustainable level. By sustainable I don't just mean ‘thinking green’, but sustainable is also doing business with an eye on the whole of society instead of just the shareholders (doing business according to the Rhineland model - not just the Anglo-Saxon model). It drives me to be involved in that and to improve the world that way."

An important part of Martijn's approach is to make the urgency of an improvement and the ‘why’/business case clear to all involved and keep everyone well informed about it. For this reason, he currently works with an interest matrix so that this can be done from a solid understanding of the stakeholders and their interests. 

​

Martijn as a World Improver

As initiator of De Wereldverbeteraars, there is no doubt that Martijn wants to make a positive contribution to the world. How he does that within The World Improvers can vary greatly. For instance, he can be the primary point of contact for clients or he can immerse himself deeply in the subject matter and be involved in the process himself. In addition, as an expert by experience, he can advise and guide teams from a distance.

Martijn is open to projects in various sectors and organisations, as long as they improve the world in their own way. Martijn is not tied to any particular sector, because he believes precisely that the combination of his knowledge of IT, innovation, transformation and change and a client's knowledge of the specific sector is so valuable.
